Description

In the softly lit room where Leo had left her, Lark had indeed woken up. She felt tired, groggy, sick and hungry... but she was conscious and able to move around. Though she was able to, those Pokemon who'd cared for her told her to stay in bed and rest. She'd moved away from the bed itself, but kept the blanket with her as she shimmied over to the back corners of the room, away from the harsh sunlight that kept streaming in despite the time of day.

She was tired... and worried for Leo, who'd not yet returned from the job he was apparently asked to do. They'd told her about him, how he'd gone to find help for her when Ivory, the giant bird with an odd taste for meat, had found her in the snow, alone. They'd told her that he'd come here, to the Boneyard, with a golden shinx named Ore. They'd been worried about her, sick to the heart over her condition, but had left to do a job requested by Ivory.

They'd done so much for her... and only one of them ever had a reason to. She felt... spoiled. Blessed.

"Lark?" A breathy voice sounded at the door. She lifted her head, knowing that tone off heart.

"Leo." She smiled, tired and weak but glad to see her partner alive and well. He was panting, had probably hurried over here as quickly as his legs could carry him- she knew him far too well. "Did you finish your work for Miss Ivory, then?"

He trotted over to her, belly almost touching the ground as he shifted into a crawl once near to her. The shinx took a moment to just look at his partner, the light in her eyes so visable again. Even without touching her, he could feel the warmth of her fur in the air around her. She'd be fine.

"Yeah. It wasn't a pretty job, but Ore and I finished it up quickly. Ivory said she'd put in a good word for us, so once you're ready, we'll go and talk to the Rogues Guild Leaders." He didn't bother explaining yet- she'd ask whatever she was curious to know. She never was one for details. Instead, he moved forward to groom the fur on her forehead, purring in relief as he felt a sharp heat there. "I'm just glad you're okay."

"Ore... the golden boy, right? I've heard about him. I want to meet him, for sure, okay?" He nodded, then continued, parting her bangs properly as he went. "So why Rogues, then? Is that Ore's guild?" Another nod. "Makes sense to me. I've been asking about the guilds here. There's Rescuers like back home, Merchants and of course, our Rogues. I didn't want to go back into being a Rescuer again, so this works out."

Leo nodded again, not entirely listening. Lark sighed and decided not to bother. He'd feel like talking once he was done making sure her fur was completely perfect. He always did this... and she didn't mind. It felt nice to be worried over. Cared for.

And now, there was nothing to worry about. They had a new place to call home, though no real home to speak of just yet. They had friends and connections and a guild to call their own again. They'd managed to get to Tao Village, though it was in worse shape than they were.

They'd completed two missions that day.

Now it was time to rest...

Annnd last story page! One page left, but it won't have any real importance to the mission.

Thanks for reading, everyone! Here's hoping I've done a good enough job with this to make it past Mission Six as a 'winner'. I'll be taking any questions about M6 on Team Nova's tumblr, so feel free to ask or comment!

And how about that color, eh?

And don't forget to visit Team Nova's Tumblr page! Ask if you want, or just check out the updates. :)
